Development of a new version of a cyber range enabling the simulation of cyber attacks with the use of an artificial intelligence agent in order to identify gaps in the system and network to improve the level of security of the computerinfrastructure (IT and OT) and to increase the competences of the teams responsible for it.
The aim of the project is to develop a new, innovative version of a cyber polygon, the main axis of innovation of which willbe an Agent based on machine learning and artificial intelligence methods planned for development, whose task will be to perform automatic cyberattacks in scenarios related to the defense area, as well as dedicated to systems and industrial automation used in critical sectors. Development and application of the above-mentioned technology (Agent AI) will constitute an innovation on a global scale and a fundamental element of the offered product (cyber polygon). The project will be implemented by CDEX PSA (hereinafter: “CDEX”, “Company”, “Applicant”) – an innovative Polish technology company. In 2016, CDeX (then still part of Vector Synergy Sp. Z o.o.) received the NATO Communication & Information Agency award in the “Top 10 Innovators” category and was recognized as the best tool in the field of cyber defense training. After the separation of the CDeX PSA company, its main activity is the creation and development of a cyber polygon.
The planned goal of the Project will be achieved through the implementation of industrial research (stages 1, 2) and development works (stage 3). The results of the Project will be implemented in CDEX’s own business.
The main recipients of the planned product will be:
- Defense industry – ministries, armies, security services, international organizations dealing with security
- Banks and financial institutions
- Other key / critical sectors – incl. fuel, energy and telecommunications industries
- Educational units
The main advantages of the product:
- more realistic training – as close as possible to real attack situations carried out by hackers
- the ability to simulate an actual attack on a SCADA infrastructure
- intelligent vulnerability identification by the agent
- implementation of individual and unique attack scenarios
